Hi, I'm Ciara Gilmore.
I'm a professional abstract artist, teacher and course creator who has spent decades helping people discover the joy and freedom of painting.
I've taught thousands of students around the world, many of whom began exactly where you are now.
I first discovered abstract art after my divorce in 2015, and it became a vehicle for my own healing and a way to rediscover joy.
At the time, I had no idea it would eventually grow into a successful career. In the beginning, it was simply a chance to slow down, let go of expectations, and stop trying to recreate something perfectly.
It gave me permission to play, express my emotions, experiment, and have fun with paint again.
There was no pressure. No rules. No right or wrong.
Just colour, creativity, and freedom. 
What started as a personal healing journey ended up changing my life in ways I could never have imagined.
Unlike some other artists and teachers...my approach is different.
I believe painting should feel ...
Freeing rather than intimidating.
Joyful rather than stressful.
Creative rather than technical.

Do I need any painting experience?
Not at all. Abstract Art Apprentice has been designed specifically for beginners. You don't need any previous art experience, drawing skills, or knowledge of painting techniques.
What if I'm not creative?
Many of my students start the course believing they're not creative. The truth is that creativity is something we all possess. This course helps you reconnect with it in a fun, supportive and pressure-free way.
What materials will I need?
You'll receive a simple materials list when you join. The supplies are affordable and easy to find, and you don't need a professional studio or expensive equipment.
What if I make mistakes?
That's the beauty of intuitive abstract painting - there are no mistakes. This course is about exploration, play and self-expression rather than perfection.
Is this a technical painting course?
No. While you'll learn useful painting skills along the way, the focus is on creativity, freedom, confidence and enjoying the process of painting.
I'm always busy. Will I have time for this?
The lessons are designed to fit into real life. Even a short painting session can help you unwind, slow down and enjoy some much-needed creative time for yourself.
Is abstract painting really relaxing?
Many students find painting deeply calming and therapeutic. It allows you to switch off from daily worries, become fully present in the moment and experience the joy of creative flow.
What kind of paintings will I create?
You'll create your own unique abstract artworks using colour, texture and intuitive techniques. No two paintings are ever the same because every artist brings their own personality and expression to the canvas.
How long do I get access to the course?

What if I don't like my paintings?
